We stand with Ukraine 🇺🇦

Ukraine is a democratic European country with many smart people, a good part of which seems to be Mac or iOS developers. Check out these excellent apps by Ukrainian developers: by supporting them, you will support their fight for freedom.

[Update: most of these below and many others are now listed on an excellent site Spend With Ukraine.]

Whenever I need to edit PDFs, I use this PDF Expert Mac app by Readdle  - it’s better than anything else I have ever tried; simple to use, and edited text never jumps around as it did with some other ones.

Grammarly is a great spell-checker which allows you to set or detect a tone you write - In fact, I'm using it now to type these words. They now have a system-wide extension that checks the grammar everywhere (or where you want).

I’ve used numerous MacPaw software. CleanMyMac checks for malware, finds large unused files and performs many other maintenance tasks. Gemini finds duplicates in both files and photos - and their iOS app is even more intelligent, suggesting the best one from similar shots. Unarchiver opens all weird archives and can make password ZIPs. And CleanMyDrive is a free menu item that cleans those extra files from USB thumb drives with a click. They are also behind Setapp - like Netflix, but for apps - a monthly fee of $10 gives you a library of 230 apps (and growing).

Finally, Softorino is another 🇺🇦 company with a list of useful utilities. Whenever I need to upload an a to my iPhone, I use WALTR - easy as drag and drop. Other utils make ringtones, download YouTube videos, or personalise folders with colours, icons and emoji.

Between others. there are Skylum with AI photo editors, Belight for home design and art, Headway for life goals, and Unclutter - Mac clipboard, file and notes manager.

To end on a different, darker note: you really should now uninstall Kaspersky antivirus. And check your Mac for other Russian spyware with a free SpyBuster.
